Energy
Systems I
Single-phase
AC measurements, transformer parameters, transformer performance, rotating DC
machines, DC-DC PE converters. Three
credit hours. On campus: Three lectures a wk. Course contains 45 lessons.
Prerequisites:
ECE
212 and Phys 212
Undergraduate students: This course may also be taken through
Engineering Outreach for credit toward a Bachelors’ degree. To do so requires enrollment through
Engineering Outreach (800-824-2889 x6373), payment of the extra Engineering Outreach
fees, and, if the student is taking other courses on campus, instructor
permission.
Graduate students: This course, when offered to graduate
students through Engineering Outreach, is normally taken pass/fail as
ECE329. As a convenience to students who
want a letter grade (for example, because their company requires a letter grade
before paying tuition reimbursement), this course is offered as ECE 320. This course does not count toward an ECE
graduate degree, but is considered a course for background study.
